Last night (23rd February 2011) Shontelle performed as the opening act at the sold out 02 Academy in Glasgow. After dazzling the 2,500 strong crowd with her wonderful personality and excellent live vocal, not to mention looking like a princess wearing a neon pink dress, I attempted to meet her as she left the venue.
Unlike some of the divas in today’s music industry, Shontelle did not leave us standing in the cold for too long and she was more than happy to stop and chat to us and take photographs. As she came towards me I instantly became very shy, which is very unlike me. She threw out her arms and asked us all for hugs, making us feel so at ease with her. She then took a photo with me and told me “you are super cute”. This only added to my shyness.
One of the girls in the group commented on how she had looked like a princess on stage and Shontelle said “thank you, that was the look I was going for”. I then dug her up for not giving a full out dutty wine when she had performed ‘Roll’. However, she said “yeah the dress was too short for that” and we all laughed.
I thank you Shontelle for taking the time out to stop and talk to us and for being so friendly and loveable towards us fans. We had better see you in the UK again soon for a No Gravity tour!
(Thanks Mark for sharing your story with us!)
