Wednesday, March 24th, 2010Rising pop singer Shontelle is ready to unleash the video for “Impossible,” the sensational first single from her sophomore album, No Gravity.
The Taj-directed clip features another rising star, singer Steph Jones (aka Jordin Sparks‘ BFF), as Shontelle’s inattentive leading man. Jones’ character loves her, but he is far too focused on getting his music career off the ground to give Shonny the love she needs. Total sad face!
For such an intense shoot, Shontelle and Steph kept the mood light and playful on the Los Angeles set. The full video will be released tomorrow.

On the Set: Shontelle’s “No Gravity” Album Photoshoot

Earlier this month, Shontelle had a photoshoot in Brooklyn (NY) with celebrity photographer “Robert Ascroft”, for her upcoming album “No Gravity“, slated for a Spring 2010 release on SRP/SRC/Universal Motown Records.
The highly anticipated sophomore album is expected to have a much harder and edgier sound, nothing like what fans would expect from her. The stunning lead single “IMPOSSIBLE” (produced by Arnthor Birgisson) impacted radio yesterday and will be available on US iTunes next week! (February 9th, 2010)
With such follow-ups as “DJ Made Me Do It“, “Kiss You Up“, “Say Hello To Goodbye“, and collaborations with hit makers Sean Garrett, “No Doubt’s” Tony Kanal, and Akon protégées Rock City, Shontelle has crafted an album loaded with smashes that will keep her high on the charts throughout 2010 and beyond. The new music video is scheduled to be shot in Los Angeles early February with director “TAJ” (Anthony Mandler’s protégé).

Yesterday, Shontelle and label mates Hal Linton, Vita Chambers, Melanie Fiona & Ryan Leslie, all wrapped up shooting their parts for a very special upcoming Universal Motown 50th anniversary show for Thanksgiving.
This is the second picture with three of the internationally signed Barbadian artistes together. The only missing people to make this photo complete are Rihanna (Def Jam), Livvi Franc (Jive) and Jaicko (Capitol)… Bajan Invasion! (Props to Christie for these photos!)
