Demi Lovato & David Archuleta mention Shontelle

    Saturday, July 18th, 2009

Just a few hours after Demi Lovato’s live ustream webcast, David took a few minutes to blog about what’s been going on with him lately and also talks about the Jingle Bash show last year with Shontelle. Read an extract from David Archuleta’s blog below:

I wanted to drop a quick line or two… or more.. haha. I’m in Sacramento right now, where I had my very first Jingle show during the holiday season last December. It was a lot of fun. At that specific show we had Katy Perry, Jesse McCartney, Boys Like Girls, and my good friend Shontelle!!! First time meeting all of them. We also didn’t have a show yesterday, so I just had some interview stuff and did things for the Rising Star Outreach foundation. I then went to see Harry Potter 6! It was a really good movie! (…)

Shontelle’s Blog: Blowin’ Up (March 18)

    Monday, March 23rd, 2009

shontelleI know I’m waaaayyyy behind with the blog but I’m back! Soooo much has gone down since the last time I checked in with you guys.

Here’s what has happened in my life since we last chatted: OBAMA became President (proud to have my song “Battle Cry” on his Yes We Can compilation album). I went to the Confessions of A Shopaholic premiere in NYC (my new single featuring Akon “Stuck With Each Other” is the title track from the movie and is featured both in the movie and on the soundtrack. We wrapped up the New Kids on the Block tour in the UK. I went to my first Grammys…

The Grammys were amazing but spoiled for me by the Rihanna/Chris Brown incident because she is a friend, and I love her. I was so sad and disappointed about the entire series of events. I attended a huge cosmetics convention where I represented VEET (I’m the new face…and LEGS of that brand). I worked with Do Something (dosomething.org) on some very important PSAs. I enjoyed many New York Fashion Week shows and parties.

I performed at an amazing charity event with Conde Nast Publications where celebs and regular folks alike donated dresses for girls who cannot afford to buy nice dresses for their proms and some of the dresses were auctioned to help raise funds towards this as well.

I taped a reality show for Hearst Publications that’s similar to Project Runway. Guess what! I am the host of the show! Three students were selected from the High School of Fashion and Design in NYC to compete to design a dress for Kat DeLuna — it was a surprise for them! Kat will wear the winning design on the red carpet of Universal Motown Records’ Annual Ultimate Prom! I had such a blast meeting the three girls and mentoring them. Check my Kyte TV player for a short update from myself and Kat. I’ll keep you guys posted about when the show will air and all the deets! It’s so fab! FASHION FASHION FASHION ROCKS!!!

I went back to London for a photoshoot and to tape the UK’s biggest music show on Channel 4, The Album Chart Show. I performed an acoustic version of “T-Shirt,” hosted a Top 50 countdown and also performed “Stuck With Each Other” with Akon and his band! It was amazing!

I’m about to head to LA to shoot my third music video (“Battle Cry”). Do you have any cool ideas? Hit me on Twitter, Myspace or Facebook and let me know what you think!

Also, if you want updates on what’s going on with me from day to day make sure you FOLLOW me on TWITTER and stay tuned to my KYTE TV channel for LIVE video and chats. YOU guys are the reason I even have a career and things are really starting to blow up! Thanks to YOU and your support, I’m even heading to Japan in April for a huge music festival called Spring Groove. I’ll be keeping you posted on all that stuff plus my upcoming European Tour!

Livvi Franc asked about Shontelle in Interview

    Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

shontelleLivvi Franc, born Olivia Charlotte Waithe from Barbados, is one of the most promising acts to launch their career this year (2009). The immensely talented singer/songwriter signed a record deal with Jive Records, which makes her label mates with superstars such as Britney Spears, Chris Brown, Justin Timberlake and Ciara Harris.

How would you handle inevitable comparisons between you and other Barbadian artists like Rihanna and Shontelle?

Livvi: – Hey, it’s a compliment!!! They are doing awesome things!! I have met Rihanna, and her work ethic continues to astound me! I also know Shontelle, and like Rihanna, she is so committed to excellence! They are also both very nice! I would not mind the comparisons at all – especially if we are compared that way! But I know the fact that we are Barbadian women with record deals who sing pop music, all around the same age and height, will be how we are initially compared, but eventually, as people dig a little deeper, they will realize we each have our own sound and style.

    Rihanna asked about Shontelle

    Saturday, December 13th, 2008

Rihanna got more and more excited as she heard the names of the stars who will join her Monday at Xcel Energy Center for KDWB’s annual Jingle Ball. There’s T.I., the rapper with whom she collaborated on the No. 1 smash “Live Your Life.”

How ’bout Shontelle, her homegirl from Barbados?
“Oh, sweet. I had no idea,” Rihanna gushed. “We used to hang out in Barbados when I was living there. It’s a pretty exciting bill.”
