Yesterday while listening to the radio I heard 92.3 NOW say that singer Shontelle was going to be at the Rye Playland amusement park in NY later that evening, I thought it would be great to carry my kids to see her live since I know they’re both big fans of hers. Shontelle was so beautiful and amazing last night at Playland! She gave my son her autograph and touched his hand, he then turned around and told me “Mommy, I am never washing my hand again” lol. My daughter was the more shy one and when she gave her an autograph, she acknowledged her by saying “I saw you in the front row” – that put such a big smile on her face for the rest of the night, as a mother I felt so warm inside to see how happy my kids were, especially my daughter, who is scheduled to have a surgery soon and all she wanted to do was meet Shontelle and get an autograph before she went for it.

I thank you Shontelle for making that day in my childrens lives a memory that they will carry with them forever… that is PRICELESS… thank you so much.

Okay I don’t know where to begin…. Ok well let’s see…. Well I’ve known Shontelle since 2007… I met her through MySpace. I was just browsing around and I found her music page. I was shocked…. to me her music was so inspirational and breathtaking. I was like wow!! I was hesitant on whether I should leave her a comment… I said “aww well what the heck.” Later on that day it said new comment and I was in shock she wrote me back. I couldn’t believe it I remember telling my friends at the time but they thought I was crazy… lol.

So as time passed from strangers… we became friends on MySpace. I would always have a smile on my face when I saw her write me back and I just couldn’t believe that she actually took time out her day to talk to me it was incredible. In 2008 lets just say I went through a very hard time in my life with a family tragedy. I needed to open up to someone so I emailed her and she gave me a lot of words of wisdom and sent me two songs to help me through this dark period. Simon Webbe – Grace and her own song “Life Is Not An Easy Road”. Long story short I got through it all and I just want to say THANK YOU Shon!!

Well I live in Houston now and my mom had told me that she heard Shontelle was coming down here for a radio station concert I was like what!!! So i tried to win tickets it was just impossible so I contacted her and she was like “I got u RL!!” I was so excited even my mom was excited.. so I was counting down the days. The day finally came and she had given me all the info I needed. I was sooo nervous… I was like come on man why are you nervous… well later on that day we got to the radio station and we were tweeting back and forth and before I knew it I was inside with all the other winners who were there to see her perform. She came out I was like “OMG!” She performed “T-Shirt”, “Licky” and “Impossible”.

After that we asked her questions and then got to meet her. She was like “hey” I was speechless I was like “hey” and gave her a big hug. We took a picture together and then my mom took a picture with her too!! She told me and my mom to wait for her on the other side…. She came back to us after the meet and greet with the other winners. She signed our CD’s and then we were talking to her for a bit. I wish I could have spoken with her more… but I knew she had to go to the next city… We took a group picture I was so shocked I forgot to smile lol. We hugged and told each other bye and that was it.

Shontelle if you’re reading this I was sooo nervous and I cant believe I was so shy even my mom told me why were you so shy. lol. I guess you can say I was star strucked…. Next time you’re in Houston i hope to see you again!! This time I wont be nervous… Thank you Shontelle for everything.

Christina, a huge fan and friend of Shontelle was lucky enough to meet her once again at the recent “Kiss The Summer Hello” concert in Buffalo. Read an extract from her blog below of her entire experience and proceed to read the full thing after!

“Me & my Puffie Shontelle ♥ I still can’t believe I’m friends with somebody so amazing . Last night was seriously life changing :’) We had the best time together & she really told me some shit that opened up my eyes to SO MUCH . I have this new outlook on life & I love it (:

For starters – me & Puffie met up at the hotel around 4:30 . I brought my cousin Bri with me again too . She had already met Bri back in October so I figured I’d bring her again so they could get to know each other more . She finally met my mama and my little sister this time around too ! She was such a sweetheart to them (: My little sister loved her – they took a few pictures together and stuff….”

I must start off saying this was the best weekend of my life. I had the pleasure of getting to hang out with Shontelle Layne all weekend long while she was in Las Vegas.

She is the most down to earth celebrity I have ever met and she absolutely loves her fans. If you get the chance to meet her, I suggest you do so. She is truly a GEM! Thank you, Shontelle for this once in a lifetime experience.

I was waiting for about 2 hours out by the back gate of the Odyssey Arena in Belfast, just waiting to meet Shontelle. I had seen Beyonce running in about an hour earlier. Then after a little I saw Shontelle walking towards my direction heading through the gates to! I was standing besides the gate with her 2 dancers and I was like “OMG!” she’s so beautiful and so sweet!

I was like “OMG” It’s Shontelle! and my brother said “I love your glasses” and she did some kinda funny thing holding them “ooooh”, I can’t describe it but it was really funny! and inside the arena during the concert, Shontelle was such an amazing live performer and interacts with the crowd alot! I loved the routine and of course the arena went crazy for T-Shirt!

After spending some time with family at home in a town in the UK, I left earlier than planned because I was too excited at the prospect of hopefully meeting Shontelle. She tweeted me the hotel she was at on Tuesday (27th) so I went and I patiently waited outside.

Beyonce’s 2 tourbuses were outside the hotel but no sign of Beyonce or Shontelle and I asked 1 of Beyonce’s team if she knew where Shontelle was but she said she didnt know who Shontelle even was!! which is such a shame. So I left because I knew Shontelle had probably just got there and wouldn’t be coming out soon.

I returned a while later, the tourbuses had gone and there was still no sign of Shontelle, I waited a while but then left again because on my walk home there are a lot of bars and there was a big football match in which Manchester United were playing and so there were loads of rowdy fans about so I left before they got too rowdy! I got back to my apartment and Shontelle tweeted that she was leaving for the venue!

I was gutted, if I’d waited just a little longer I would’ve met her! So I tweeted Shontelle and asked her what time I would need to be outside her hotel the following day in order to meet her and she said ‘b4 9am’ I didnt care that it was early because it meant meeting her!

I woke up early and left for her hotel jus b4 8am, got there at 8:10 (I didnt want to miss her so arrived early!) I waited and waited, I was the only 1 there! Then her driver arrived at 8:50, I started to get more excited, he was talking to me and told me she’s really sweet and not to be nervous (I wasnt but he made me nervous saying that lol).. DJ Shortman came out from the hotel and I said hello to him, then Rebbi and Emer came out and I said Hi to them…

I knew Shontelle would be next She came out and gave me a hug straightaway!!! That was soooo sweet of her! She was soooooo nice! We took pics but my phones slow and her driver didnt know how to use it so it took a while and a whole lot of posing lol, (he even accidentally took a video instead of pic)! She gave me her autograph and another hug! She was soooooo sweet, she looked gorgeous and I was so excited!

It was such a honour! I love how she interacts with her fans, not many people would do what she did! When I was walking home I wanted to tell every1 on the street I’d met her! I couldnt contain myself, I was so so happy! I’m so glad I met her, she’s amazing!

So I was waiting outside Shontelle’s hotel in London (K West) with a couple of friends, It was 4 of us. We waiting a couple of hours and we were getting so anxious! We managed to meet Rihanna aswell while waiting on Shontelle because she was staying at the same hotel! But we waited even longer after that for Shontelle to come out.

After a while of waiting Shontelle came outside just before 5PM and was like “Heyyy How are you!” and was really sweet to all of us, we all got to get pictures with her. She pointed at my friend’s glasses and said “I Love themm!”.

It had to be quick since she was heading to Beyonce’s concert. I said “Talk to you on Facebook!” and she said “Yeahhh!” then we all said our good-bye’s and she went into her car.

Let me tell you all about my Shontelle great experience. With the help of my friend Damien (ShontelleOnline) I went to see her perform at The Album Chart show at KoKo on March 9th, 2009. She came on and performed ‘Stuck With Each Other’ with Akon and it was really an amazing performance.

They have such great chemistry together onstage. After the performance my friend and I ran outside and waited for her by the stage door and after about 20 mins/30 mins later she came out with her personal assistant.

Shontelle was so lovely and happy to chat with us and was very happy to know I was a friend of Damien’s and even called him her ‘homeboy’! We then took pictures with her and she wished us home safely. She was such a sweet heart and I hope she comes back to London soon so i can watch her live in concert or meet her again ♥
