Shontelle is appearing as a special guest on The Voice – Norges beste stemme (Norwegian Version of the worldwide talent smash; The Voice) – check out this double page spread in Norway’s Leading Newspaper Dagbladet. (Translated to English)

Dagbladet NewsPaper: It was the pop star’s visit to Norway in connection with “The Voice” earlier this winter that the pop star visited the artist and Michael Jackson’s friend Omer Bhatti, who also goes by the stage name O-Bee.

Omer and I recorded a single and made music together. I really hope that you get to see it when it comes out, says Shontelle Layne (28) to Dagbladet. “It was very good, and Omer is incredibly skilled,” says Shontelle.

Rihanna
Shontelle has previously collaborated with the likes of Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, Akon, Pitbull and Jason Derulo, and childhood Rihanna.

Rihanna and Shontelle are in fact both from the Caribbean island of Barbados, the two have worked a lot together, among other things, they made a remix of Rihanna’s song “Unfaithful” and released the songs “Roll It” and “Hotness.” The greatest success of the parts, however, Rihanna’s hit song “Man Down”. I co-wrote the song, and I am so grateful for it, says Shontelle.

On tour with Beyoncé
In the summer of 2009 she was also with Beyoncé on tour in Europe, where she was responsible for the opening number.

“Wow, it was unreal! Not only she took me on tour, I was also treated as part of the family. She was very embracing,” says Shontelle, Beyonce, who got to meet several of her idols like Bono, Adele and George Michael.But Shontelle has also on several previous occasions worked with Norwegian musicians, songwriters and producers. “

For example, Hanne Sørvaag written songs, “Say Hello to Goodbye” and “No Gravity”, where the former was placing on the Billboard chart, and the latter was the title track on the artist’s second album. ”Say hello to goodbye” is one of the most successful songs mine. Jody and I have a magical musical “connection”, she is one of my favorite people, she says, adding that some of her best music has roots in Norway.

Norwegian success
Shontelle breakthrough tune “Impossible,” where the video is seen well over 41 million times on Youtube, is in fact signed Norwegian Wroldsen Ina, who has also written songs for artists such as Britney Spears, Leona Lewis and Tone Damli. Also like Rihanna, Shontelle has also worked with the Norwegian producer duo Stargate, and made music video with Reinert Olsen, better known as Ray Kay.

“Hanne and I continue our cooperation, and Yosef and I talk about doing something together. You can look forward to more cooperation with me and Norwegian artists,” insists Shontelle.

Shontelle “The Voice” favorite
Then sang the star visited Norway in connection with “The Voice” earlier this year, she discovered even more Norwegian talent.

“I wanted to take them all home with me and sign them. There were a couple of performances that moved me to tears,” says the artist, who is also the next four Fridays will be looking at the TV screen in Norway. ”

In particular, one of the participants made an impression on Shontelle:

I remember particularly Omar. My manager said, ‘Oh my God, he’s Norwegian? “. Had I not known better, I thought he was American. There is something about him, she says about Omar Ahmed, who won his duel  yesterday and went ahead in the competition.

Starstruck
When Sørvaag would bring in an outside person to assist in the difficult selection process, she was in no doubt who she wanted most:

“Shontelle is the biggest name I’ve worked with, so I decided to contact her,” says mentor, who does not hide the joy of the pop star agreed to throw the star shine of the Norwegian “The Voice”. Sørvaag says that the participants reacted by becoming quite “Starstruck” at the first meeting.

“They looked terrified out, poor things. Then I thought maybe it was a stupid idea, for it is not good with too much nerves when they should concentrate on performing. But it went very nicely. Shontelle is a likeable girl, and after the shock was over, we worked very well with the group.”

Notification of more visits
Shontelle has clear plans to return to Norway:

“I love goat cheese. And Moods of Norway has become my new favorite brand. Now I just have to learn the language better,” she says before she adds for good understandable Norwegian: “I love you, Norway!”

The song debuted on Valentine’s Day and tells the story of a love desired. “I need someone to love me, love me” sings the Barbadian born Soul/R&B singer Hal Linton In a husky voice. It’s a smooth and slow R&B track, which proves Linton’s vocal ability.

The ever so preppy Shontelle adds her verse to the sonic piece singing, “touch me like you, touch me like you love me, do me like you, do me like you love me … “ Which gives Linton the opportunity to find that someone he wants to love.

Let’s hope that ‘Technicolor’ Is full of similar tracks because if this holds true, Linton’s mixtape will be a smash hit.

Continuing her collaboration with Cat Footwear, Shontelle debuts her personally design shoe line featuring her song “Reflection” as inspiration. Shontelle designs these boots focusing on the fine details whilst also more significantly incorporating the Barbados trident.

The Christmas season has hardly begun and Shontelle’s giving back to her fans by releasing a new song entitled “10 to 1″ which she premiered on Tumblr and Facebook with the following message.

~ SHONTELLE ’10 to 1′ COVER ART FAN CONTEST ~

Attention All Shontelle Fans!!! Due to the resounding positive response to Shontelle’s new holiday song “10 to 1″, Shontelle started a contest a few weeks ago asking fans too design their own artwork for the new song and submit it for her to personally pick her favor for the official cover.

She had a hard time deciding through hundreds of entries but has narrowed it down to her Top 5, where the fans will then face off against each other in a voting dual. Good luck!
