Shontelle dedicated a special ustream live chat today with her fans to celebrate the music, life and times of her hero and idol, Michael Joseph Jackson. The entire show was filled with MJ’s best hits. All of this was held at The Loft (SRP Records) while going in and out of her recording sessions in studio. Special guest Hal Linton passed through with a guitar in hand to sing “Bubbles” with Shontelle… a hit song in the making lol.

SHONTELLE - SHONTELLIGENCE
Many people have compared this new Barbados singer to Rihanna, probably because they have a similar style of music and they are from the same hood. It should be mentioned that Rihanna is no match when compared to Shontelle, vocally. One of the songs “T-Shirt” has already been getting major airplay, making her a good contender in the R&B world. Most of the songs are very reggae-influenced. I look forward to hearing her follow up album as this one has a handful of great tracks.

Shontelle shot a brand new music video with director Jessy Terrero, for her next official U.K single “Battle Cry” in Los Angeles on March 19, 2009 [Videoshoot Photos]. The last “Battle Cry” music video which most of you would have already seen was an Obama Tribute version for having her on his “Yes We Can: Voices of Grass Roots Movement” compilation album.

The music video has a quite simple concept, but most importantly without a doubt it has a very moving, glossy and glamorous effect, with a powerful message shining through about people uniting as one, and togetherness. Shontelle looks gorgeous. This is our Battle Cry.

After being on tour with Beyonce in the U.K as her opening act, Shontelle didn’t hesitate to take a trip home to her island Barbados for a short break before heading to Los Angeles to start recording for her next album.

While spending time at a beach, Shontelle made a special shout out video to all her Brazilian fans to thank them for all their support and I also recorded her “Essence Magazine” encounter experience at a nearby gas station. Check out the photos and watch the videos below.

It was a really fun and relaxing day, that included Jet Ski’s and Lunch! Awesome!

A popular event in the United Kingdom named “T4 on the Beach” is having another festival this year on Sunday, July 19th 2009. Today Shontelle was announced as another performer added to the lineup along with other acts Daniel Merriweather, Diversity, JLS, N-Dubz, Alesha Dixon and much more! and according to T4’s website, all the tickets are sold out already!

As most of you would have noticed, the Shontelle updates have slowed down now since Beyonce’s “I Am…” UK leg of her tour ended.

If you are following Shontelle on Twitter, you would already know that she is now back in our homeland Barbados for a little vacation to rest and spend time with family and friends. Maybe I will get to see her again like the last time she came to Barbados back in December 08′

Updates will be on hold for a few days, because the website is going through maintenance and we’re preparing our re-launch of ShontelleOnline this summer for approximately July. You don’t want to miss out on this!

Shontelle was nominated and give a spot to run for this year’s U.K title of ‘Ms. Twitter’, a little competition held by TweeterWall. Alliance star Serani’s bonafide hit “No Games” has landed at the #1 spot on America’s reggae iTunes Chart for the first time, knocking Bob Marley’s timeless classic “Three Little Birds” off the top spot. Having been selling thousands of downloads and ringtones for months, No Games has been flirting with the #1 spot for sometime, but now replaces Bob Marley’s anthem, that sells an average of 5,500 a week in downloads on iTunes.

“No Games is actually still gaining in spins across the country,” said Serani’s manager. “This record just won’t go away. Its still getting added to playlists in many states across the country every week so it continues to spread.”

Serani recently recorded a remix for No Games with songstress Shontelle, while on tour in the UK. Shontelle scored big in the UK with her recent hit “T-Shirt” and being label mates Universal Music made the match and hooked up the two artists. Universal/Island Records will release the No Games + remix package digitally on July 6th.

“Shontelle was great to work with,” said Serani. “She’s a very talented songwriter and she has a great personality so the chemistry was good in the studio. The remix is hot.”

Shontelle has revealed she’s having a blast supporting Beyonce on the UK leg of her tour, saying the excitement “never dies”. The 23-year-old also said she’s a huge fan of Bootylicious Beyonce, who plays her final gig at London’s O2 Arena tonight (Tuesday).

She said: “I am touring with the queen, the diva herself, Beyonce, I am so excited, every night it’s just the same level of excitement as before, it just never dies - she is beautiful and very lovely, she’s so supportive and she’s such a sweetheart.”

Asked if she would like to collaborate with the Crazy In Love singer, Shontelle said: “I hope so… the ladies have got to hold it down together, you never know. I would love that though.”

Rumours have been circulating about a possible collaboration with Rihanna, and the Barbados-born T-Shirt singer teased: “I’ll keep that a little secret for now, we’ll see, we’ll see - I’ll keep you all wondering.”

With her next single Battle Cry out soon, Shontelle revealed some details about her video. “We already shot the video in LA so that’s coming really soon,” she said. “The video is very uplifting, when you watch it you’ll feel very inspired - it’s kind of glossy, very simple, not overdone but very inspirational.”

R&B star Shontelle has vowed to bring people together with her next single.

The Bajan singer will follow her recent hits ‘T-Shirt’ and ‘Stuck With Each Other’ with ‘Battle Cry’, a song from her debut album Shontelligence. “It’s a song that’s really supposed to unite people,” she told DS backstage at the Capital FM Summertime Ball.

“Right now there’s a lot of drama going on in the world, so this is a song that’s really supposed to relax everybody and remind us that we should stick together. Make love, not war!”
